I would like to interview managers and executives who have consciously encouraged the use of online social networks in their organizations. This is for my doctoral research looking into the use of online social networks like LinkedIn. If you would be willing to be interviewed by me for around 30-45 minutes, I would be hugely grateful. I will share the interview questions with you prior to the interview, and your responses will be kept confidential unless you wish otherwise. I will also be pleased to share a synopsis of my findings with all who participate. If you are willing to take part, please let me know at greatcapes@gmail.com and I will be in touch with further details and to schedule an interview time. Many thanks!

Rob,
Good morning! We actually met at SCIP09 in Chicago last year when I purchased a copy of you book and took your workshop on social networks.
In fact, I regularly use a term of yours and give you credit: “strength of the weak link.” I use it in the context of showing LinkedIn training clients that participating in the LinkedIn community gets you further in business networking than simply visiting LinkedIn occasionally and taking what you need.
Phelps Research Services is a primary-intelligence-driven business research firm handling Market Intelligence, Competitive Intelligence and Business Development Intelligence. We also offer a comprehensive suite of Linkedin training services. I speak publically and present regularly about the power of LinkedIn.
As far as an example of encouraging the use of social networks among our employees (we are a family business with three full-time family employees and 4 other 1099 contactors), we definitely practice what we preach. Since primary intelligence requires that we interview key executives around North America to talk about their expertise, we use LinkedIn in 100% of our research projects and over 80% of our business development tactics. Our most popular class is “The Top Ten LinkedIn Business Development Strategies” and we train sales professionals to leverage social networks, especially LinkedIn.
Anyway, my apologies for the length of the comment. I would be happy to particpate in your interview process and do anything I can to help you get that doctorate! Feel free to email or call anytime.
